WAG — Wasatch Adventure Group

FAQs

How big are the groups?

Group sizes vary depending on the dogs, the route, and conditions. I keep groups manageable and consider each dog’s temperament, pace, and needs when planning an outing.

Where do you pick up?

Pickup areas include Rose Park, Marmalade District, Capitol Hill, The Avenues, Federal Heights, Liberty Wells, Sugar House, and Millcreek. Availability depends on your address and our scheduled pickup routes. Share your neighborhood in the inquiry form and I’ll check the fit.

Is my dog a good fit?

We’ll start with a conversation and meet-and-greet. I can bring Bodhi along for a short introductory walk, too. Tell me about your dog’s age, fitness, health considerations, comfort around other dogs, and experience riding in a vehicle. All options are small-group adventures; Single WAG means one booking, not a private hike.

Will my dog be on or off leash?

Every dog starts on leash while we get to know each other. Off-leash hiking may be an option where allowed, with your permission and after your dog has shown they reliably come when I call. I decide whether dogs stay on leash based on their needs, the group, and trail conditions.

How long will my dog be out?

Plan for roughly 3–4 hours away from home, depending on the pickup route and outing. That includes transportation and breaks—not nonstop hiking. We’ll discuss the expected window when we confirm your schedule.

What happens in bad weather?

When mountain conditions aren’t suitable, we may use lower-elevation trails or pathways where access and conditions allow. A comparable outing stays the same price. If no safe option is available, we cancel. If we cancel without providing an alternative outing, you can choose a credit or refund.

What if we’re away or need to cancel?

Life happens. You can pause your weekly plan for full calendar weeks without charge—just give me at least 7 days’ notice. I’ll hold your usual weekdays for up to two consecutive weeks. Longer breaks depend on route availability.

For individual hikes, please give at least 48 hours’ notice to avoid a charge. If you’ve already paid:

  • Double WAG and Triple WAG: You’ll receive a credit toward your next invoice—$60 per canceled hike for Double WAG or $55 for Triple WAG.
  • Single WAG: You’ll receive a refund.

Hikes canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice, or when your dog isn’t available at pickup, are charged in full. Makeup hikes aren’t guaranteed.

You can end your weekly plan with 7 days’ notice. The same cancellation rules apply to hikes scheduled during that time.

If WAG cancels a hike and can’t provide an alternative outing, you can choose a credit or refund.

Can I come once a week?

Absolutely. Single WAG is $65 per confirmed booking, whether you come occasionally or reserve one regular weekday. There’s no automatic recurring charge. Discounted weekly plans are for two or three reserved days.

How do I get started?

Send an inquiry through our request form. I’ll follow up about your dog, route availability, and a meet-and-greet. We’ll review scheduling and payment terms before confirming anything. Submitting the form does not reserve a spot, collect payment, or enroll you in a weekly plan.
